    Hello all,

I'm in search of an online bachelors degree in soco. The only program I have come across is American Military University. Is there any other options? Thanks!

Some other options that I found just now (all are regionally accredited):

    New Mexico State University
    NMSU: Online Programs Home

Fayetteville University (part of University of North Carolina system)
Department of Sociology - Fayetteville State University

    Park University
Online Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Park University

    Dallas Baptist University
Dallas Baptist University - A Christian College in Dallas, Texas
It doesn't say it's offered online on that page but it's listed on the online programs list:
    DBU Online Programs

Ashford University (BA in Social Science, not Sociology)
Ashford University Online – Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Details

Not that you asked, but what are you planning to do with said degree? My daughter graduated last December with a degree in Sociology from a B&M state university, and is selling men's suits at the mall. She's pondering her grad school options and seriously considering nursing school.

There's not a lot one can do with a BA or BS in Sociology, apart from Grad school or a "degree preferred, any degree will do" type of job.

This isn't a bad thing. There are a lot of good entry level jobs out there that fall into this category.

No worries. And I completed the above mentioned Behavioral Science program through Bellevue. Good program those planning a career in human services.

I think your least expensive option would be Colorado State University-Pueblo > Undergraduate Degree Program. You can transfer in most of your courses, and they have mostly independent study courses, meaning you can finish them as quickly or as paced as you like.

Another good choice, Columbia College Online Campus - Sociology. They are inexpensive and have a very good reputation. They only require 24 credits to be in-house, the rest can all be transfered in. They also allow up to half of your degree to come from credit-by-exam, which could be a great time and money saver.

Lastly, have you heard of the Big Three? Charter Oak State College - Finish Your Degree Online Thomas Edison State College Excelsior College - excelsior.edu. Many people find them to be the most flexible, with so many ways to get your credits, that it is possible to get an accredited degree on the cheapy-cheap.

Actually, you can use a Sociology degree in lieu of a bsw or psych undergrad degree if you want to get into social work, social services, or go on to get a masters in Human Services, Psych, Sociology, or MSW.
