Please help harvard alm degree

If you took the harvard alm degree how did you pay for the first 3 required classes; is there a payment plan? and if you cannot qualify for the loan can you use 401k? thanks

 

You pay out of pocket for the first three classes, cash or credit. You may be able to secure a private loan, but no funding through the University. No payment plan is available. Once you're admitted (after the 3 courses) then you're eligible for financial aid and scholarships.

 

You're right, that's the major "con" when doing that degree. I paid out of pocket. You'll also have to pay for a summer visit so you can do the Proseminar- all of that BEFORE you can apply for financial aid. It's going to be roughly $10,000

Others have answered the first part of the question.

Using a 401k will open you up to taxes on the withdrawal amount, but at least you won't take the penalty on top of taxes so long as your withdrawal is clearly for educational expenses and less than $10,000 USD.

It depends on the degree - you can take the Journalism proseminar online. So you'll only have to travel to Cambridge after being admitted.

Nice. Developers sometimes use Latin or pseudo-Latin as a placeholder for text to come. Every once in a while, it accidentally makes its way into a live site. Alot of Harvard correspondence templates that are being sent outside the university are set up this way, essentially for formatting reasons. My guess is that the copy isn't ready for the site but, as Balios pointed out, they likely placed the Latin there to show how the formatting should look and accidentally took the page live.

 

If you have Word 2007, you can generate this sort of text by typing "=lorem(10)" on its own line without the quotes, then hitting enter. The number in parens (10, in this case) is the number of paragraphs to be created.

Ha, the things you can learn on this forum.

 

It's really pricey compared to something like WGU and moderately pricey if you compare it to Norwich or CMU. My take on it is that SANS is very well regarded by the security community at large (with noted exceptions) and it's hands on work with publications and conference presentations done at the Masters level.

If you can afford it (I won't do it without employer assistance) I highly recommend it. Only bad thing about it is it doesn't have RA yet and is in the candidacy phase for it now that they've graduated their first class.

I'm still looking at Harvard and reconsidering WGU.
