We received 27 abstracts but only accepted four of them to move forward. I wish it could have been more.

Four is enough and I think actually a pretty good start for a brand new peer review journal, and it is going to be some interesting research; however if anyone out there is sitting on an article idea or something they have been thinking about submitting to a journal, we'll still take them until the end of next week.

Here is some info: 2011 Schedule

I have a few articles "frozen" in the peer review process. If you get the chance please consider re-thinking the "Never submit material for concurrent consideration by another periodical" guideline. I know, I know - almost all journals handle things that way, but it is one of the most annoying things of publishing for the author.
The project sounds promising. I always wondered what it would take to get a journal up and running and ranked. Would love to hear a bit more on the journey such es how you will get it published through Elsevier, Springer or one of the other publishing houses. I assume it is going to be a "traditionally" published or are you going the open access route?

I have completed some additional research that piggybacks on my dissertation. Would that be of interest?

Multiple submissions make it near impossible for the publication to manage their reviews and layouts. Imagine at the last minute getting this email: "hey I just got approved in a better journal, see ya!", after we have spent a lot fo time and money getting the article ready..the system would not be able to stand up under its own weight as everyone would submit everything everywhere..

For starting a journal, pretty much everything in education is setup to prevent anything new, you can't have an impact factor until you have a journal, and so on.. so the first step is to have a journal, then you can start to work the different systems, especially if your journal contains good interesting articles that start to get referenced in other publications..
