I am currently enrolled at UMass for a Psych BA. I have 18 credits with them from Spring/Summer courses. I have an A/A in Liberal arts obtained Dec 2010.

I find them to be cold to deal with. I have never spoken to any advisers to get help with my degree plan. They do everything automated through ISIS. They don't offer science courses. I'd really like a BS in Psych not a BA. I might enter a BS to BSN program. Currently I can not go to offline classes. I am a single mom to two toddlers ages 4 and 1. So online is my only option.

I'd want a school that has science course BIO, Anatomy, Chem, and a BS Psych program all online. Reasonable fees and accredited through a University system. I live in California but have no issues doing Distance learning programs anyplace in the US.

What schools are out there besides UMass? I was reading about UND (University of North Dakota) but I couldn't find information as to if they offer the science courses offline. It states you can take them at other universities to be credited towards your degree there.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd really like to switch from UMass and find a comfortable atmosphere. I dislike blackboard and planned chat times with instructors. As a single mom sometimes I don't get exact hours with two toddlers running amok. It isn't convenient and I have no adviser. I feel detached from the school. My GPA is a 4.0 at UMass and GPA from SUNY OCC a 3.7.

My daughter has found that SUNY, one of your alma maters, is quite helpful and personal for bachelor's degrees. This is probably not news to you and thus not helpful but here's a list of their bachelor's degrees offered online anyway. See if any of those fit your requirements: Online Bachelors Degree Programs at SUNY

Liberty, where I'm working on a doctorate, is very helpful and inexpensive. Liberty University

    Thank you

Hi I've looked into Liberty but they need you to do some type of internship program, which would be impossible for me at the moment. ESC (Empire State College) isn't the right place either. I looked there last year.

You might look into Northcentral University NCU (not to be confused with North Central University). They offer degrees with absolutely no residency and they are regionally accredited, which is the gold standard. http://www.ncu.edu/

I may have your solution here: Columbia College: Online Campus - Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

It is a respectable school, costs about half as much as UMass, has a very comprehensive Psychology program (at least 45 credits) and I have heard, though not experienced, that they have great, highly attentive, student service. You can complete up to half of your degree using CLEP, DSST, ECE and the like, which could save you a lot of time and money.

Other schools offering a Bachelors in Psychology include:

    Argosy University
    Post University
    Southern New Hampshire University
    Arizona State University
    Upper Iowa University
    Ottawa University
    University of the Southwest

Good luck! Let us know which you choose, we're always interested in that "compare and contrast" thing.
