    I know this is off-topic, but given the historic nature of the event, perhaps the mods could leave this here until after the launch.

    NASA is currently "cautiously optimistic" that launch will happen this morning.

    In other news, real estate in the area surrounding Kennedy Space Center is about to become really affordable, and it's a pretty area with nice beaches about an hour from DisneyWorld.

    I am disappointed I was not able to see it. I can stand on the balcony and see it about a minute after lift off.

    We gave up Mars for the Shuttle, and we gave up the Shuttle for nothing.

    We gave up a lot of other goals we could have met.

    Let's keep raising that debt ceiling... what do we have to show for it?
