Someone on another site posted the fact that Trinity's president has posted a response to DETC's denial of accreditation. It seems financial responsibility is the sole basis for denial and they have a chance to prove they are financially responsible/appeal the decision. My guess is they will need someone with deep pockets or many someone's to set up an endowment.

IIRC, this is similar in that it was not academics that kept Trinity from Regional accreditation. I believe it was a number of issues Dr. Fyffe (sp??) pointed out with their practices (eg running MDS at the same time running Trinity) AND some large issues with financial mismanagement. I do not recall anyone mentioning academics as a factor. In fact I think Fyffe mentioned that part of Trinity's practice was to put large numbers of students in the program with the expectation and hope that they would drop out, because if all of them continued this would drain resources (since they get to keep your fees for that academic unit if you drop out). Was there not also some accusation about missing funds?

Dr. Hunter may be trying to fix things but they will have to go a long way to over come the past (beyond Dr. Fyffe's report) to include the U of Liverpool "accreditation", etc.
