    Hello All,

New poster here. Does any one have any information on the Indians of the Southwest class at WNMU. I'm looking at taking it for the summer duration.

I don't know anything about that class but I love the school. I am finishing the MAIS in Writing and Literature after this session.

Nothing but positive from the time I requested information until now. This is a great, student friendly school. My experience with professors has been in English and Writing and all of them have been top of the line. Please don't misconstrue this to mean easy, the courses are not easy but they are interesting, informative, and the amount of work is similiar to the work in other Masters degree courses I have taken. I think you will be pleased with the school.

I just graduated from WNMU this spring. (WHOOHOO!) In my last semester I took History of the Southwest with Dr. Fritz, who also teaches Indians of the Southwest. I have to tell you, I really liked the way he structured his course. He had audio lectures, video clips, readings, discussion, and more. You know, all the stuff an online class SHOULD have. He tends to focus on shorter essays, 3-4 pagers, rather than a bigger paper. I actually liked that because in the course I took, I had very little knowledge of the topic, so the essays allowed me to explore a bit. Based on my experiences with his previous course, I would definitely recommend taking it.

One caveat, however. I took a 16 week course. I'm not sure how a 4 weeker would hold up. I took two 4 weekers during my time at WNMU. They were intense. Good luck if you choose to take it!
