Hello all, My husband is interested in pursuing a MPA (Masters in Public Administration). He is looking at TESC which has a good program but would like to due diligence on other options. TESC would be $13,000 Does anyone have input regarding other MPA programs. It would need to be a US school that is RA. Thanks for your thoughts.
Hello Colleen, Welcome! Marist College offers an online MPA which may be a good fit. You'll find the relevant information here. Good Luck! Tony
Troy State has an online MPA that would only be $7500 total ($250/s.h.). I've come across some others, but this one came immediately to mind. You can also check About.com Distance Learning: Public Administration.
I see in the subject index to Bears' Guide (14th ed) that there are also programs at Cal State Northridge, Florida Institute of Technology, and Golden Gate U, among others.
Hi, Colleen. California State Univ., Dominguez Hills has an online MPA. It costs $300/unit x 36 units = $10,800. They may also require some prerequisite classes if the student's bachelors isn't in public administration. These prereq. classes are $200/unit. (Seems that Troy State beats them on price.) The program is RA and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. http://mpaonline.csudh.edu/
The University of Colorado at Denver also seems to have an on-line MPA. I don't know much about it except that the school that offers it is both RA and NASPAA accredited: http://carbon.cudenver.edu/public/gspa/programs/c02.html
Dr. Colleen, I saw John Bear's reference to Golden Gate U. I got my BS in Management there before they offered DL degrees. I'm not sure how their online program is, but their bricks & mortar school is great and most likely the DL program is top notch too. They are not the cheapest though . . .
