Been doing alot of research about which institution is best. I first looked at UoP but it was very expensive, and doing some reading of other's that posted, i got the feeling that UoP isnt the best.

What do folx on the board think of UMass? Im in the computer field. Been doing Unix Administration for about 4 years.

Is the BSIT at UMass a good program?

    Phil,

I'm not a computer professional so I lack your dept of experience but I can share the following information. What I am is a Ph.D. psychologist who enjoys a challenge in something new. I took a crack at the BS CIS program at UMUC and I was very disappointed. I cast around and decided to transfer into UML's BS IS program. My experience has been just great; the instructors are well-informed and committed to teaching. I find the courses challenging. The tuition is modest at $225 per semester credit w/ no extra fees for out of state students. Additionally, the school was very generous in terms of plugging my coursework from previous study into basic requirements. I can give it a strong thumbs up. Arranging for admission and the transcript evaluation at UML was nowhere near as seamless as at UMUC. Once I negotiated those hurdles, which was really only a matter of time, the administrivia became negligible. Good luck and feel free to re-post if you have any additional questions.
