    Hi

    My ultimate goal is a BS/BA from AMU (or perhaps other RA accr. school if I learn of any good ones; based on programs offered and price (as low as possible))

    In order to save some money on this I plan on getting certificate and/or AS degree(s) form some of the cheaper DECT schools and transfer as much credits as I can.

    The schools I am thinking about are Andrew Jackson University, Ashworth College and Penn Foster College. These are very similar in price are they not? Anyone care to show me how to get total cost for each to compare (I am not so familiar with the terminology since higher education is mostly free in my Country)

    Any other DECT (or RA) schools in that price range?

    Thank you,
    Ole

    Welcome to Degree Info, ole. I hope you find your experience here helpful and enjoyable.

    You need to be careful because there are often problems with getting RA schools to accept DETC credits. What country are you from?

    SurfDoc;

    AMU is both DETC and Regionally accredited, which makes Ole's strategy very smart. I would think that any of the Community colleges that offer online degrees would be good, if one could be found that did not differ in price for out of state students.

    Thank you very much!

    Yes, I am aware of that. And that's why I find AMU quite interesting (in addition to some unique (degree) programs). Like rmm0484 said they are have both accreditations, and so it should be a viable option to save some money on a RA degree. Actually, this is more of a "personal thing" for me, than a career move. So price is important to me, and RA is not essential, but it's a nice "bonus" for an eventual BA/BS. (As it could be used towards a master anywhere in the world).

    BTW: I am from Norway.

    TY! I'll check it out.

    What are the normal charges (tuition, etc.) that apply esp. to distance learning schools? And how does this relate to credits and semester hours? What is semester hours?

    Thank you,

    Ole;

    The web site is for brick and mortar schools, but if you find a school of interest, click on its website, and see if they offer online degrees. You will pay, of course, application fees, tuition and other fees such as technology fees, etc (junk fees).

    Here is an explanation of semester hours: Semester Hours
