I did decide to attend my graduation on the 21st and today I got my diploma in the mail. Honestly I didn't enjoy any of the grad ceremony except walking across the stage and hearing my 4 year old say really loudly...that's my mama!!! The rest of it was pretty boring and the speaker was kinda weird and I still can't understand how his speech really related....

As for the diploma... not impressed! It is very boring. I also thought it would state my major but it does not just Bachelor of Arts.

Does anyone have a diploma from University of Nevada-Reno? That is where I am going to get my Master's from and I am hoping theirs is better :nervous:

I am glad that I am done and that it is official that I am done! Now that my degree is conferred I can get a final transcript for UNR!!!!

Congratulations, and best of luck with your next steps! And for what it's worth, none of my diplomas are exactly artistic masterpieces - they all seem to be rather pedestrian, but they still look nice in a matted frame over my desk. I'm sure that yours will look great once you have it on the wall!

    Congrats on your accomplisment.

The University of Nevada ones are pretty standard (i.e. boring) looking. I feel like most diplomas are that way. They redesigned the Auburn diploma the year after I graduated, but my year is pretty dull. Same with the Vanderbilt one. I was actually jealous of the Law School and Ed.D grads from Vandy, their diplomas were much cooler looking than outs. I'm excited to get my Harvard one next year. All in Latin and oversized.
The coolest ones I've ever seen are Washington & Lee (I mean it's on sheep skin, is oversized and has images of both George Washington and Robert E. Lee, tough to top), Notre Dame (also on sheep skin and oversized), College of the Holy Cross, UVA and the College of Charleston (CofC's diploma is the largest on the planet - that's actually a selling point during your campus visit - and has the signature of the Dean of every school when you graduate. A replacement diploma is something like $2k i believe as they have to track down all the deans from your graduation year....not sure what they do any of them has passed away when you request the replacement).

Thanks guys!!! I am glad that most of your diploma's are boring as well ;) . It probably will look much better once it gets framed and hung on my office wall!

    Congratulations!

My two diplomas are in cheap frames from Office Max. I put them in there to protect them. And even those are in a box somewhere. Maybe I'll actually get them properly framed one of these days, but for me it was mainly the transcript that mattered. :)

My Ashworth College diploma looks pretty cheesy, I wasn't impressed at all. The Southwestern College one is pretty boring but elegant. The Ashford University one looks slightly better but again understated. I imagine Bellevue University will likewise be the same type.

The nicest certificate of anything I have seen is a Bar Association license to practice law in Texas. The certificates are HUGE and very ornate.

I like displaying mine. I've even considered paying the $40 to get the replacement diploma from Auburn. It comes in the current size regardless of when you graduated so it would 13"x17" instead of 8.5"x11".

Diploma Information - College of Charleston It is apparently $8.00 now for a replacement. From the form, they apparently use the existing faculty for signatures.

My MA from Liberty is oversized and very nice. My BA has more of a simple look, but I have no complaints.

Well I stand corrected. I was basing this from memory of a campus tour in 1995-96 and what a friend who is an alum told me. He always did exagerate. $8 seems much more reasonable.

$8 is a steal, if you ask me. My master's would cost $40 to get a replacement. My undergraduate alma mater doesn't have the diploma replacement fee online, so I don't know how much it would cost.

My replacement fee for Auburn is $40 as well. $8 is about as low as I've seen. I've seen a number of schools charge between $75-$150. I'm about cave and order the new one. it just sucks that the current administration will sign, not like anyone would notice.

If the fee were only $8 for my alma mater, I would have ordered some extras for home, office, etc. display.

Yeah, I'd do the same. Some schools require you to return the damaged diploma (if possible) along with the fee. Guess they don't want people walking around with multiples.
To the OP, i apologize, seems like Stefan and I have hijacked your thread to talk diplomas. Congratulations again on your degree. How long with the Nevada program take you to complete?
