Good afternoon, I am new to the site but have been on it from time to time for advice. I have a Master's degree from St. John's University it was face to face. Now for about 2 years I have been actively looking for a PH.D program in Criminal Justice or Leadership in a U.S school system. I am adjunct professor at some small schools in the area. I want to find a school with low residency requirements must be fully accredited and have a B&M foundation. I have applied to NOVA however they will not accept my Capstone paper (55 pages) as part of the requirements. So now I have to take the GRE which I don't mind but would rather not. I also look at Regent U which has a PhD program but the next Cohort isn't till 2012. So I was wondering if I was missing any University's that the forum is aware of that may have what I am looking for. Thank you all in advance for your help.

I look into that program. It is a good program, it is also very expensive and I would have to travel approx 5 hours one weekend a month.

Are you in or around NYC? A friend of mine is beginning the PhD in Criminal Justice Policy, Oversight, and Administration SUNY John Jay. He works for the NYPD so I know it is a part-time program, but I'm not sure of residency requirements or even if the program is available via distance. If you're in that area you might want to look into it though.

Thats a great school, I started my Master's there then transferred to St. John's University. St. John's was a great school, if they had a PhD I would be there in a second. As for John Jay it is an amazing school, I felt that I missed some classes due to my work schedule and they weren’t to happy about that. So I wouldn't feel comfortable going to that program because I really can not commit to regular classes. Thanks though

    Some alternatives to Regent:

    Indiana Tech

Lancaster Bible College - Graduate Education - PhD in Leadership

Minor correction, but John Jay is a CUNY school.

Thanks. I'm not really familiar with the state school system in New York. So what does the "C" in the acronym stand for? I'm assuming UNY is "University of New York"?
