    Hello...first time poster.

I am currently debating between a Masters in Public Policy and Management from the University Of London|SOAS or a Masters in Project Management from the University of Liverpool.

I feel the Public Policy and Management would serve me much better in terms of my career direction than Project Management, but nonetheless can anyone share their experiences or opinions on the recognition of these two programs?

Furthermore, I know this is a matter of constant debate, but for me, it is important my degree (the actual parchment we all hang above our desks) does not reference having studied online or in the the case of University of London having been an external/internal student or part of the international program.

Has anyone received or seen a recent Distance Learning Degree from the University of London and can speak to what exactly is listed on the degree? Also, how about University of Liverpool's degree?

From what I understand, neither of these universities indicate the mode of study on the actual degree (the University of London having just changed that years ago).

    Thanks for any help.

Is there a reason that you are limiting yourself to British schools?

I am mainly interested in British schools because the future holds about 6 trips over there over the next two to three years.

Also, the degrees from these online programs come from a B&M institution with long histories and reputations.

Is there any reason you ask?

Yes. The reason I am asking is that there are many other similar programs available from universities in other countries but if you are limiting yourself to British universities then I won't bother to list them.

Liverpool degree is the same online or on campus

I just checked my "parchment" from Liverpool and there is no mention whatsoever of Online or distance learning on it. If you are interested I can send you a private message with an image of the degree. Btw, I really liked the program and surprisingly from an alumni activity perspective Liverpool is much better than the US universities I attended. Liverpool has plenty of US events and doesn't hassle me for donations.

That's interesting. I'm not severely limited. I like the fact that I don't have to pay for a bunch of applications and that most British schools do not require any graduate testing.

I've looked at U.S. programs and there are VERY few that don't require testing and I didn't very much like the program or school.
