Cheapest Online Emergency Management Associate's?

My wife is getting fired up with all my talk about testing-out at TESC. We are enrolled in a state CERT program, learning some basic community emergency response skills, and she is now extremely interested in this field. Coincidentally, my step-son is of the exact same mindset. He has roughly 50 credits of prior school already under his belt, but my wife is essentially starting from scratch.

I'd love to find a cheap, online associate's degree in emergency management that I could steer them both into. Unfortunately I'm not finding much, other than Lakeshore Tech at about $10,000. I know one school in Oregon takes 93 FEMA courses, but they also require five state-given courses and our state (Alabama) refused to participate in their program, so that's out.

We are all three also now pursuing the Alabama Emergency Manager certification, and possibly the State Guard one just for kicks. But I'd like to point them towards an actual shingle that could help them land a job working at a county EMA office. Therefore I humbly turn to the online degree experts for advice! :)

Thanks for any help you can give!!

I know of some certificate programs (Grantham, Eastern Kentucky) but I don't know of any AA/AS programs.

Yes, Clackamas has agreements with 5 states to accept those state-run courses for credit, and the other 45 (including ours') all refused to participate. :(

Thanks all. Picked up a few links I didn't know about. I'm looking into them a bit more now.

So... which one is cheapest? I'd ideally shoot for the $5K range with abundant use of CLEP/etc if at all possible. Otherwise it looks more like $10K is what to expect?

I just find that hard to swallow when I see $5K tossed around for a BS or BA from one of the Big 3. But maybe I'm misguided?

    Thanks again.

Whoa - FCC EM AAS is based on the FEMA certs. And since I'm active duty she could get away far cheaper through this option. Just sent them a request for their limits on CLEP/DSST/transfer credits. Thank you truckie!!

Also, are all of these colleges based on the FEMA courses? I noticed the first one (Barton) has several courses that appear to duplicate the FEMA IS courses, but they use an internal Barton-specific numbering system. I can contact them all directly, just wondering if anyone knows offhand.

    Thanks!
