    From the new AJU prez...

"We plan to transition to a competency based academic model that identifies a set of integrated competencies, rather than simply a succession of courses, that define the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed in today's competitive marketplace. Through a comprehensive objective assessment of each competency, we will ensure that our graduates actually possess these critical workforce skills."

He came from WGU, I've heard that before in discussions about WGU but I don't know what they mean by that.

Does that mean that they will follow their coursework with standardized tests?

Call me cynical: I think it simply means they are going to do a bit of editing of course descriptions.

    Old description of Calculus I:
"Limits and their properties. Definitions and some techniques of differentiation and the evaluation of definite integrals, with applications."

    New description of Calculus I:
"Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have an understanding of limits and their properties. Student will be able to apply techniques of differentiation and the evaluation of definite integrals to solve problems."

Note that the actual content and methods of the course are unchanged, but the marketing department now has a lot of new buzzwords to throw around.

Perhaps they will have capstone testing (for lack of a better term) before granting a degree. They certainly would not be the first school with that requirement.

You could ask them for clarification? It would be nice to know for certain but it sound like an interesting adjustment though.
