Anyone know of any schools offering online graduate certificates in theology, of at least 18 semester hours?

I am going for the MFA in Creative Writing, but I thought when I finished I might try getting a grad cert in theology which would allow me to teach religion at a community college. That way I would be fulfilling both of my passions and giving myself a chance, however slight, of teaching both at the college level. Plus, I would have a terminal degree in one area and wouldn't have to get a doctorate in that.

    Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure it can be completed entirely online, but this program, offered through a collaboration between Harvard Extension School and Harvard Divinity School, is also worth a look - Religious Studies and Education Citation: Harvard Extension School.

You guys are the greatest -- thanks!

The cert programs I like best are: Loyola, NOBTS, Aquinas, OCU, SBTS, Harvard. I believe all of these would work for me.

I can't put into words what a relief it is to finally see a clear path after all the time of indecision and unknowing. Getting a terminal degree in creative writing and then a grad cert in religion seems to be about the best solution I can find, at this time.

Also, words can't adequately express how appreciative I am of everyone here who has contributed to helping me find a solution to my dilemma!

I wanted to add that probably my favorite of the programs is Seton Hall's Great Spiritual Books Certificate because it combines religion and literature, but I didn't include it on my list because of the cost and because it requires one campus visit. But who knows, by the time I get ready to start on a cert program, maybe I would be able to go for the Seton Hall certificate.
