Great article, thanks for sharing. I'm sure APU is not the only conscientious profit school out there. It's great to finally see a bit of fair representation. There's bad profit schools out there, but they aren't all bad.

I like this from the article:
As we expanded, so did an insistence that our outcomes compare favorably with those of other universities. In addition to doing internal quality-assurance and external accreditation reviews, we measured outcomes using third parties, such as the Educational Testing Service, through which our graduates' abilities were analyzed in comparison with those of students from 600 other institutions.

The quality of the article is much higher than the quality of many of the comment posts. Is is a shame that there is so much ignorance among those professing to be academicians.

Thanks for the post Dr. Pina.

    re Dr. Michael Hillyard:

“Dr. Hillyard’s public service included early career responsibilities as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer — service that was hallmarked in duties at the Pentagon as a national security analyst for the Commandant of the Marine Corps' Strategic Initiatives Group, membership on the Marine Corps' first ever Quadrennial Defense Review Task Force, and independent research with the Center for Naval Analysis. His active duty and reserve military experience culminated with the rank of Major.”
