Does anyone know of Bond University?

They seem fairly advanced and forward thinking about distance education, then again most Austrailian Universities do a good job when it comes to education on the distance platform. IS there a rating system for Aussie Schools and programs similar to US NEwsand World Report? There is a Guide I found online but they wanted money to get the information.

    Thanks in advance.

You have to pay for a copy of the US News Guide too. If you need the information then pay the money. Even if all you do is rule out specific prospective schools it is money well spent as it could be helping you to avoid a costly mistake.

They also seem rather pricey for an Qz school. Programmes at the public schools are significantly lower, also broader in scope.

Thank you Jack for the wisdom...but really what I am looking for is what the word of mouth is.... The issue really isn't to pay or not to pay, it is, what do people who read this thread think, heard etc... about Bond University. It is that simple.

    Thanks Again

I've gotten some indication that Bond has a pretty good business management department but I don't know if that's relevant to your interests. You may need to say something further about your interests...undergrad v. grad, what specific subject area(s) etc. before anyone can really tell you something useful. An earlier post that stated Bond was on the expensive side. Since you're in the USA now (and I assume you'll stay here) you'll have to assume that prospective employers won't recognize the name of any Australian university. Based on that it might be more difficult paying out the extra money since any "prestige" that might conceivably be associated with that schools degrees will be lost to the American job seeker.
    Good luck,

    Thanks Jack!

Actually, the prestige is secondary to a good program. I actually enrolled in the Institute of Health Sciences D.H.Sc., I was just wondering what people of this group think of Bond if they knew anything. I really have a lot of the stuff that I want professionally, I am just looking toward a degree that solidifies, provides more credibility for faculty standing.

Presently, One American School offers the D.H.Sc. and they are offering it for the first time this spring( NOVA). There are too many inconsistancies in the program to be viable as an option. I believe in time they will have a solid program.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer. I t is much appreciated.

I am still idealistic enough to hope that academic prestige comes from BEING a good program. Naive perhaps but what can I say...
It seems that you've found yourself a unique program that suits your needs. To my way of thinking that's worth a few extra bucks.
