The salary gap between part time faculty and full time faculty is huge at some Universities in Canada. For example, a full time McGill professor makes at least 100K in the management faculty while a part time faculty gets paid only 4.5K per course. University of Toronto has similar practices.

In the online world things are a bit more fair. A part time faculty makes about 2.5K per online course while a full time makes about 65K but is expected to teach 5 courses per term and four terms per year. You are also expected to publish at least once a year and participate in meetings so if you do the math things seems to be very close.
