I know I am not alone here.... I can't stop searching online for distance learning degrees! It is a sickness and saps at least 2 hours of my day almost daily....lol Naptime around here since I am not in classes is spent trying to find online degrees:naughty::naughty:

I thought I had the perfect plan going as I had applied to and am waiting admission to University of Nevada Reno........and then I found Northern Arizona Universities M ED. Human Relations and now I want to apply to them as I like the degree and class choices offered and feel it would fit nicely with my Bachelors... Don't get me wrong I still feel like the UNR degree would fit me as well and be very interesting so now I have to decide between the 2...:pat::pat::pat:

Im not the only crazy one here correct????? I know many of you do this....:pat:

I have a great idea! Don't decide. Ever. Eventually people will start to recognize you for your permanently rouge forehead :pat: which will provide great networking benefits since no one will ever forget your face.

Don't feel bad- there are no less than 30 grad level degrees that I'd love to do. The good news (or not) is that you'll become schooled in what's out there in your area(s) of interest, and there is an end to the list- once you find the end, you'll only have to keep up on the changes. LOL
I feel deeply for you people seeking management/mba or Education degrees- the options are HUUUUUGGGGEEEEE.

Others may do it, but you're the only one crazy enough to admit it...

We would like to suggest that you join our program Academiholics Anonymous. The first step is in admitting you have a problem.

    Don't stop looking

Every time I think my number-of-degrees plan is too crazy, I just look at our former NASA administrator:Michael D. Griffin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He has four masters degrees, a PhD, and is working on his fifth. I would not be surprised if he's looked at DegreeInfo at some point. That Johns Hopkins program he's currently working on has an entirely online option (though its best classes are held in the DC area, and it has many good classes).

His approach appears to have been to just churn out degrees that are relevant for his work experience over a gradual period of time. His employer likely paid for 50% or more of each degree and if he were getting these today he could attend programs with DL components that are equal in caliber to the schools his current degrees are from. All of those schools currently have really strong DL options, it's likely those were his best options for part-time evening programs.

Do what he did, pick the degree you'll use in your job today. If you don't have a job lined up for this degree then try to tell us a little more about why you want each degree. If it's for some dream-job, you might want to consider getting in the field first. You may find you hate it and/or your employer may be really supportive of you getting the degree on their dime.

I probably spent a year weighing my options before finally enrolling in a program. I have transferred to two other schools since then. It's OK to take your time in making a decision, but eventually you'll just need to take the plunge. That's really the only way you are going to know what type of program works best for you.

Is there some sort of rule that I am unaware of that stipulates you can only earn one graduate degree? If not, then what is the problem? Get to work - the sooner you finish the UNR program the sooner you can get to work on something else!

Standing up.....My name is Mak and I'm a DL addict :) All jokes aside I think you're just trying to find the best degree that will offer the most opportunities for yourself and your family. Nothing wrong there. I know the economy sucks so every dollar out there counts. But all in all don't sweat the small stuff my friend enjoy your life.

Now it has come down to price....8100 (UNR) vs 11,500 (if resident) or 15,500 (NAU) if I don't qualify for resident tuition....there is a process I am going to have to go through and I could not get a definitive answer this afternoon. The 8100 is sure sounding like the winner at this point but I need to speak with my husband and compare the 2 degrees more. Anyone feel free to chime in ;)

I search for DL program regularly. So much of work day is made up of "hurry up and wait" that in my down time I'll search for programs. At least you intend to enroll in one or more of the programs you're searching for. I simply do it because I am bored.

At least you have that excuse. I do it because I'm a nerd.

True I am doing this to make sure I am choosing the right degree for me but it is still time consuming... I am starting an excel spreadsheet of online degrees I find/have found because there will be others who need the info right?

    :)

I just book mark pages on my computer, if someone walks by and sees my screen they see I am on a university's website and just assume it is work related. I don't even have to attempt to hide what I'm doing. No one has ever questioned it, but I get all of my work done so that probably prevents a lot of questions.
