Is there such a thing as a foreign (non-USA) MFA in Creative Writing? If so, are there any offered by DL?

    Thanks.

Try looking at the usual suspects in the Australian university system - Charles Sturt U, Edith Cowen U, Deakin U, etc. I'd be surprised if they didn't have an MFA hiding in there somewhere.

I have only been able to find MA's, not MFA's.

Yes, I've looked at Lancaster there's is an MA. I would much prefer the MFA since it's a terminal degree.

Yes, I knew about this one, but I don't see how anybody can afford it, at a cost of almost $36,000.

Not really overpriced at $36K when one considers The University of British Columbia’s ranking globally. UBC ranks ahead of other top internationally ranked Canadian universities such as McGill and McMaster.

Fair point, but for me personally, I couldn't afford it.

Looks like National University might be my best bet, if they will accept me.

Your reason in selecting National is understandable…
The best toward your MFA endeavor…

I wonder if National ever turns down anybody. I mean, is it hard to get in their MFA program?

National University Graduate Admissions: re National University • Admissions Checklist

“Students with a grade point average of 2.0 to 2.49 may be admitted to the University if they have a satisfactory score on one of the following tests: GMAT, GRE, Miller Analogies Test, or an approved, standardized program-specific exam. These tests are NOT required for those with a GPA over 2.5.”

“Students with an undergraduate grade point average of 2.0 to 2.49 may be accepted to National University on probation (instead of taking the above tests).”

    Doubtful…

My GPA was 3.86, so I guess it would be up to the writing sample.

Yeah, even with a GPA like that perhaps you'll sneak by. Good luck!

I heard back from National about the poetry portfolio I sent; it was accepted! So, looks like I'm in. I still wish I could find some free money to cover part of the cost.

If I enroll, this will end years of indecision for me.

Thanks to everyone here who has helped, and thanks for putting up with me for so long. :)

Found that one, too, but hadn't visited in a while. Thanks for reminding me! :)
