    'No frills' coming style for colleges? Cost-cutting lawmakers seek cheaper degree programs.

    Here is an interesting article in a San Antonio newspaper about a move toward "no frills" colleges, meaning more on-line education and less traditional brick and mortar classes.

    Article compares Western Governors University with some of the Texas universities.

    “Legislators are pondering the sort of “no-frills” degrees pioneered by the for-profit sector — heavy on the use of online classes and devoid of sports teams and research laboratories that make college a pricey venture”.
