I believe I have found a great program for those who live in California. I was looking through the masters programs for each university in my state for the lowest cost masters degrees to see what they offered. I want to get an AACSB mba, but I can't shell out the money right now. So I was looking for another masters degree that could benefit me.

San Jose State appears to have a MS in Transportation Management for $750.00 per 3 unit course. There are 10 courses needed for the degree.

(San José State University : Donald and Sally Lucas Graduate School of Business : Master of Science in Transportation Management)

The web page says that this is in conjunction with the "Mineta Transportation Institute" which is a government entity.

    MTI: Mineta Transportation Institute

Other than the price, what makes this appear advantageous is that the classes are held around the state at Caltrans regional offices. This means that the program is offered all over the state as there are 12 districts. If you are more than 60 miles from an office you can live stream the course.

I also believe the degree is accredited by the AACSB along with the other SJO State business degrees. This would be a great deal, SJO state is a good school and if this is an AACSB degree, it can be had for about $7500.00.

I will be calling first thing in the morning to verify.

San Jose State is a great college with a great reputation, and the program sounds like a good one. I have a friend who worked in transportation, and according to him, logistics managers are usually the first ones to loose their job when the economy gets tough. I have no idea if that is accurate, but thats what he told me.

I don't mean to rain on you parade, cause the program sounds great, so good luck with it and let us know how it turns out.

A state university degree earned at Cal Trans offices? What will they think of next? Cheap too, hmmm.
