I saw their DL programs in Executive Leadership, which is interesting for a 6 course structure at a low cost.

    1) Is it a Cornell University Certificate of a eCornell?

    2) One can earn CEU's, but is that a true benefit versus credits?

    3) Is it webcast streaming?

Just curious, if anyone here has personal experience with these programs at Cornell.

    Thanks in advance...

As I understand it, the primary benefit of CEUs is that they allow people to keep their licesure current. Beyond that I think their value is chiefly as a learning experience. They do not automatically translate into credits.

Certificate says "Cornell university" with a small "ecornell" logo at the center/bottom of the cert. Unless they have changed the design since last year.

As is the case with most executive certificates. They're not academic programs and shouldn't be viewed as such.

I believe you meant to say academically accredited programs. Some do qualify for approved credits, however.

Some also need to consider that certifications are just as important to career development as an actual accredited academic program. That's why there are so many certification societies in the field of practice that have nothing to do with an academic organization. Without them some professional can't practice their craft as a "professional".

These certificates offered by academic institutions were developed to allow those professionals to qualify for CEU's to support their professional societies.

No, I mean they're not academic programs. These programs typically don't involve research, grades, or preparation for advanced study. For the most part, these executive certificate programs are skills introduction/enhancement courses akin to vocational programs for white collar executives.

Certificates are from Cornell University...eCornell is owned by and is the online learning division of Cornell University. The programs are not webcast streaming but include video and interactive media elements that enable a student to progress at their own pace and at times that are convenient...collaboration happens online with fellow students and instructors via discussion boards integrated into the course materials. See Overview of eCornell

    eCornell : Executive Leadership

I am currently enrolled in the "Executive Leadership Certificate".

Since, the first two questions are answered by previous posters, I will address the third.

    3) Is it webcast streaming?
The primary mode of information is text, there are images/charts and some audio/video snippets. However, the course is well organized in the sense there is less text and more interactivity. You need to participate in various group discussions, exercises and assignments. It is more about reading the information and synthesizing it with your life experience.

The eCornell programs do have course work/exams as do most executive development/education programs I am aware of. Now the grading of that work is a different story entirely. I believe it varies from program to program.
