So its a toss up. I cannot decide between a MBA with emphasis on Healthcare admin from Ashford university or a MHA from National University. What would you suggest? Ashford con=for profit college Ashford pro=MBA with the concentration I want National con=MHA instead of MBA with HA concentration which is what i want National pro=private non-profit college Both have the same accreditation levels and both programs will take approximately the same amount of time (ashford taking 18 months with 6 week semesters and National taking 16 months with 4 week semester). Cost is not part of the equation as it will be covered with my GI Bill. Thanks
Thanks but i am really sold on the two I posted. Any input on which of those two you would suggest and why would be greatly appreciated though. Main thing i am thinking is the MBA with healthcare admin emphasis from Ashford may have more durability in the job market than a straight out MHA. However, national is non-profit and from what i have read in the past some companies do discriminate against for-profit college degrees.
need to add that Ashford will give me my books for free due to my being Active Duty Military while National will not.
MHA for three reasons: 1) Non-profit: avoids for-profit bias 2) A full degree, not a concentration: could be helpful if you want to teach a class on the side 3) MBA saturation: everyone and their mother has an MBA these days.
I would tend to agree with all points (numbers 2 and 3 more then 1). While many people do not understand or care about the non-profit / for-profit debate, except for this little forum world, they will like names they know and trust. I would go with the MHA over the MBA, you can always complement the MHA with some business classes or a certificate.
