I think this is the right forum to post this question in.

Is anyone familiar with Western Governors University at www.wgu.edu ?

I read on their site that they are DETC accredited.

Do degrees from there transfer to RA universities?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Ther have been several recent threads on this topic such as
WGU states it has 2,500 students and WGU: public or private?.

The simple answer - they are legitimate (sp?) and accredited (sp?) they might be transferrable, and then again they might not depends on when and to where. But then that goes for almost any program such as a community college to a university. Transfer to a state school in one of the states supporting WGU would probably be more successful then to Columbia or Penn State.

    Hi Tuesday

Western Governors University is a complex puzzle at this point. If you want to understand it I would start by plugging the name into the search feature on this site and reading the history and opinions on it. There is some question about the enrollment number. If the enrollment is low then it may not be around long. It is currently DETC accredited and seeking Regional Accreditation. Transfering credits at this point to an RA institution is unknown. The safest way to see if it is possible is to call the RA University directly and ask. If you have specific questions please post them. Also welcome to the board.
