I recently saw a play out here in San Francisco and one of the performers had a degree from Summit University. Does anyone know what happened to them? I understand the schools founder Ray Chasse passed away but I can't find the school anywhere. Just curious...so many come and go.

 Well, there is a Summit Online but it has no connection to the Ray Chasse Summit. I am familiar with it having known a very well known professional Dancer who earned an MA there. I understand the old Summit University of Louisianna is planning a comeback after reorganizing. It was a legitimate life assessment school that had a good rep in the unaccredited world. Most of it's staff had RA advanced degrees. I've got some old literature on it if you're interested, Maven. Ray Chasse, it's founder was associated with American Coastline I believe.

A good reputation with whom? This was a bad school operating in an environment deviod of oversight. It died with Chasse. Good riddance. A "legitimate life assessment school"? Sorry, but that's an oxymoron. Businesses that pose as universities and award degrees based upon life experience are simply selling degrees for a price. That adequately describes both Summit and ACU, both operated by the late Ray-Ray. Puuuuleeeeeze.

I guess the *sarcasm* didn't come across Rich. I agree with you.
There is some place for life experience but I have difficulty accepting it as transferable to college credit, unless of course you go via the challenge exam route. The individual I knew from Summit had a RA bachelors from Harvard. She held a degree in Theatre.
