Quick fix bandaid for the scroll bar issue

It appears to me that the scroll bars only appear on members who have nothing in their signature line. If you would like to make your scroll bars go away while we are waiting for it to be fixed, go to "settings" in the very top right of your screen and then navigate to the "edit signature" link on the left. Put something in your signature and the scroll bars should not appear in anything you post. No links please.

If you are still not seeing your signature, go to "settings" again and then go to "general settings" and click on "show signatures".

This works for me on Firefox for Mac. Let me know if it works for you. This will only work on the posts you make; everyone who does not have something in their signature will still have scroll bars on the posts they make.

I'm going to keep bumping this up for about a week so as many members will see it as possible.

Nope, still there. I'm running Chrome on Vista. But, at least I finally got motivated enough to actually put something in the sig line. Thanks for that.

 

Also, apparently my sig doesn't show in the actual post. It does in the preview, but not in the actual post itself. Matter of fact, yours does not either, assuming you still have one.

 

Ya know guys, I've just gotta say it. The new scroll bars are unsightly but they're really not causing any problems. In due course they'll just disappear and when they do it's likely that no one will even notice that they're gone.

Here's how to fix that: Go to "settings" in the top right of your window, then "general settings" then click on "show signatures". This might solve both issues for you. Let me know.

I'm pretty sure that's one of the things that only a moderator can do. Everybody used to have access to that feature and spammers somehow, I don't know how, were able to exploit that ability and do spammy things with the sig lines. So I don't think it will work for members for the time being; sorry about that.
