I'm trying to make a single thread where we all can list all of the DL degrees that relate to language, with the exception of degrees in foreign languages themselves. I'm referring to degrees in Translation, Interpretation, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Communicative Disorders and the like. Anything that may be of interest to language professionals or enthusiasts, but, again, not including the study of a single language. Let's start with my little list here and build on it

MA in Applied Linguistics, UMass Boston
    MA Applied Linguistics - UMassOnline.net

MA in Applied Linguistics, University of New England (AUS)
UNE - Linguistics - Master of Applied Linguistics

MA in Applied Linguistics, Monash University (UK)
Master of Applied Linguistics - PostGraduate/Graduate Coursework, Arts, Monash University

MA in Translation Studies, IGNOU (IN)
IGNOU - School of Translation Studies and Training (SOTST) - Programmes - Distance

BA/BA (hons)/MA in Linguistics (optional concentration in Translation Studies), UNISA (ZA)
    Unisa Online - Linguistics

MA in Linguistics for the Language Professions, Stellenbosch University (ZA)
MA in Linguistics for the Language Professions

BA, Interpreter Training Program, Troy University
Troy University - Interpreter Training Program

BS in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, Utah State University
Communicative Disorders & Deaf Education - Online Learning - Regional Campuses & Distance Education - distance.usu.edu

BS in Communicative Disorders, Eastern New Mexico University
    Communicative Disorders Online Courses

    What else ya got? :wiggle:

MC - Monash is in Australia, not the UK. Also, one may either pursue the Master of Applied Linguistics through Monash or Open Universities Australia (either way, the degree is awarded by Monash).

UCLA has a residential doctorate in Indo-European studies, a passion of mine. Any one know of a distance counterpart?

    Maniac,

Thank you for putting together this list. I have been lurking here for a while and found this list to be very comprehensive.

Has anyone actually enrolled at Stellenbosch to do their MA in Linguistics for the Language Professions? It seems like a worthwhile course, and I am awaiting a response from them about fees.

Also, I saw that Rhodes University has some courses in linguistics but am not sure if they are possible to do by distance. Has anyone tried those?

    Thanks again,

In another thread discussing Arabic studies via distance learning, I learned about California University of Pennsylvannia. In addition to their Arabic language program, I discovered that they also offer an M.A. in Forensic Linguistics, which sounds fascinating. Any takers?

Wow, how has it been 8 years since I made this thread?

    Wow.

Anyway, here's a new one, and the price is very good - $10,500 for a 36 credit program. Choice of thesis or practicum.

MA in Applied Linguistics, Hellenic American University (USA)
    https://hauniv.edu/applied-linguistics

The price difference between it and the UMass MA in Applied Linguistics, the one I've been eyeing for years, is large enough to almost fund yet another degree.
