Hi everybody (Specially to John Bear, Randell1234, MichaelGates, Hille and others who helped me in the past),

I hope you are alright and in good health. Thank you very much for helping me in the past.

Several years ago (October, 2005), I came to this forum looking for some help in order to achieve one of my life-long dreams of having an MBA (without a Bachelor Degree) and you guys kindly helped me by giving me your wonderful and precious advice.

I am very glad to report that I took your advice to my heart and now I am an MBA (An acedemic MBA with a Dissertation - Coursework GPA: 3.725) degree holder from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom without having a Bachelor's Degree.

All I can tell you that getting into the program wasn't easy at all. The University of Liverpool took almost 9 months to decide on my application for admission (I furnished more than 109 pages in lieu of my past academic records, work experience letters .etc) and then made me go through their Foundation Course which I completed quite successfully. Furthermore, I had to write a dissertation (15,000 words minimum) - in addition to successfully passing 8 subjects / modules - in order to get my MBA.

(Alas! That's something else that I lost my job soon after my graduation and currently looking for a job very desperately.)

Please, help me one more time by advising me about a suitable Ph.D. program (I just would like to have a Ph.D. for the sake of personal achievement. That's all.) as having a Ph.D. is also one of my life-long dreams. I just want an easy subject and wouldn't mind to do a Ph.D. with a fellow scholar.

Should you know about any inexpensive, accredited American, UK or Australian (I am not interested in UNISA) research doctorate program (no residency + no course-work but through a dissertation / thesis) then please let me know.

Thanking you in anticipation and looking forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

With best wishes, regards and respect...

    Let me be,

    Yours sincerely,

    Positive Soul

Hi PositiveSoul. Welcome back. I'll offer my two cents for you to consider: I don't think you will find a legitimate PhD that will be easy; it will be a torturous amount of work. Writing a dissertation is an arduous task, to say the least. If you find a doctorate that is easy, it will most likely be coming from a diploma mill.

While it will not be easy, you could earn a doctorate fairly cheaply at Aspen University. You could most likely make it all the way through and spend well under 10K. If you are doing it just for your personal enrichment, you will not mind the fact that Aspen is DETC, which is very good quality but not as widely recognized as regional accreditation.

Welcome back. Great to hear you were so successful. If you are interested in a EdD, California Coast University has one for about $18K.

Honestly, this seems like a questionable reason to pursue a Ph.D. There are no "easy subjects" at the doctoral level, and the fact that do not have a research focus already planned indicates that you are not ready for a dissertation-based PhD program.
