I'm looking for a school where I can study by distance learning for BS in ELectrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering. can any one help? I found Atlantic international university Atlantic International University: bachelor, master, doctoral degree programs by distance learning, online, correspondence, or home study. AIU offers an affordable, nontraditional, online university for adult and continuing education via distance lea but I don't know if its real or a scam. has any one studied there?
It is a Hawaii based business (makes the Atlantic portion of its name a bit humorous) with no accreditation. Here is a good thread to read: http://www.degreeinfo.com/accreditation-discussions-ra-detc-state-approval-unaccredited-schools/31694-aiu-fake-not.html My recommendation to all is to not waste any money on a "degree" from this business.
Their accreditor is unrecognized by... well, anybody... and has a long, unscrupulous history Quackwatch: Accrediting Commission International. The school may still provide a superb education (how the heck should I know?), but I wouldn't want to be the one to put up the money to find out.
To my knowledge, there is only one school that offers a LEGITIMATE B.S. in electrical engineering online, that is the University of North Dakota Online & Distance Education. It is critical that you go to a properly accredited school for engineering.
You're going to have lots of problems finding Bachelors degree programs in any Engineering sub-discipline. This is mainly due to the difficulty of completing lab work. The only one I know of comes to us from the University of North Dakota: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering | Online & Distance Education Maybe other members are aware of other resources.
Note that with the above mentioned program in ND, it is distance/online but labs need to be done on campus in what amounts to short residencies.
Nationally accredit institution: California National University (for Advanced Studies) offers Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Specialization in Electrical, Computer, and etc. Remember this school is not ABET accredited. Also Grantham University offers the same but in Technology. URL: http://www.grantham.edu/colleges-and-schools/college-of-engineering-and-computer-science/ DeVry University also offers Bachelor of Science in the fields you're looking, but I think it is pricey.
Excelsior offers an RA and ABET accredited BS in Electronics Technology http://www.excelsior.edu/ecapps/faces/DegreeProgramController?action=detail&id=239 You would need to check out their website for more information.
