I hope the moderators will remove the link, and it's a good thing if this totally phony business is not even identified.

But fifteen days is nothing. One big phony, currently advertising, features a Ph.D. guaranteed in 12 hours.

And at that fine silliness called the University of Bums on Seats, you can download and print your diploma instantaneously, and totally free. Cynical bastards* can do their own web search.

Hey, send me $100 and I'll print you a nice master's diploma in 1 day. I have a really nice printer and some good graphics software. 15 days is sooooo long to wait.

It doesn't take much Google-Fu to be able to figure it out.

Rather than upload a resume, I chose to take their equivalency examination. Being the lazy sort (who else would even look at this web page?) I didn't bother to figure out the logic problems on the last page, I just selected answers at random. Any question that I instantly knew the answer, I answered correctly. Any that I didn't instantly know, I guessed. It took about 10 minutes.

I got a 74. Good enough to qualify for a Bachelor's degree, in whatever major I wanted them to put on it. (Aerospace Engineering? Sure!) For $499 I'd get a degree and a transcript showing a 3.0 average. For an additional $75, I could graduate summa cum laude.

I have to wonder ... do employers really not check people's credentials? It would only take a potential employer a minute or two to look up "_______ University" online and see that it's a sham. I can see such diploma mill degrees being useful (though still unethical) before the Internet, but now it's so easy to research this stuff ...

I agree. I find it difficult to accept that someone could make it entirely through the hiring process at most companies without someone seeing that their degree is a fake. I understand that it does happen sometimes but I agree that it shouldn't, especially when it is so easy to check with the Internet.

This is one of the arguments that can be made in favor of nontraditional, online and NA degrees. If many employers will happily accept degrees from diploma mills, how much more we should expect them to accept a degree from real schools like APU or Aspen

You did it the hard way. I just clicked a random answer without even reading any of the questions. I got this page. Amazing, but true... (bold letters are mine)
In review: they give you the answers AND you can take it as many times as you want- until you get 120.4% of the answers correct.:lmao:

...and for a buck, you could go to Kinkos and use their color laser printer and print out a diploma on nice parchment paper that would be just as impressive (and just as worthless) as the one you bought online.

So what's the point, other than enriching some crook?

Great idea! Instead of paying $500 to a diploma mill, I will use it to print 500 diplomas and start my own!

    I wonder why he didn't pay the extra $75 for a 4.0 GPA? :p
