I had a request that I will toss out here, I have a student who needs an undergrad Stats class. He is in a graduate MPA program and he graduated with a 3.85 and a BA from a 4 year, bricks and mortar, academically well respected state university but lacks stats. (Took precalc and calculus).

    Three requirements:
    Regional accreditation
Inexpensive (nice word for cheap as in starving grad student)
    Online/distant ed delivery
I have looked at my typical sources but they seem to lack one of the three prerequisites.
    Thanks

Your student might consider the DSST stats exam if that is an option.

If it isn't, the University of Wyoming offers two statistics courses online: STAT 2000, which is a "Statistics and the World" type class that isn't very math intensive, and STAT 2070, which is more along the lines of a traditional "Statistics 101" class and is probably what your student needs. UW is cheap at about $135 per credit, and best of all, he still has time to get registered before classes start on 1/10.

    Good luck!

It's clunky but...you asked, so: ALEKS for ACE credit ($20/month) transcribed for credit by a RA school that accepts ACE.

I did the ALEKS Stats. TESC accepted it from ACE and WGU accepted it too(oh the state of NJ also accepted it for my teaching cert). If that doesn't work I would say the ALEKS is a cheap way to study for the DSST Intro to Stats.

    Stats class

Thanks for the replies, I think he has several leads, one of which should take care of it.

I looked at a few of these videos and found that they are very well done. The statistical concepts are pretty basic, but for what it is, I have never seen a video provide such a clear explanation of statistics basics. I might use this with some of my students. Thanks for sharing it with us, Ian.
