I'm currently an undergraduate student studying in China, Shanghai at
SJTU(Shanghai Jiaotong University), half way through my second year.
I am a south african resident, my family is moving back there and I'm wondering if theres any way for me to transfer my credits to universities there? eg UCT?

I would be surprised if it wasn't a straightforward process. The UCT website will have an admissions process outlined and typically there are policies regarding transfer credits righ on the site. I would simply initiate the application process for UCT and include a set of official transcripts

When you say "family", do you mean your parents, or your spouse and kids? I ask because my understanding is that Shanghai Jiaotong University is pretty well regarded, so if you're doing well there, if possible perhaps you should see it through?

    As Kizmet has suggested:

From the University of Cape Town 2011 Undergraduate Prospectus: http://www.uct.ac.za/downloads/uct.ac.za/apply/prospectus/uctugprospectus2011.pdf

Applicants who have attended a higher education institution will be assessed on the basis of their higher education results and school-leaving results (p. 21).

Students transferring from other universities may receive credit for and exemption from a maximum of four full courses (or the equivalent in half courses) provided that courses passed are recognised as equivalent to those offered at UCT (p. 57).

Emily, do you know if I could transfer credit the other way? I have 2 previous years of undergraduate study and am now working in Shanghai? I would like to complete my studies here, could I do that?
