I'm thinking about jumping ship and going with Aspen for their School of Health Professions and Studies - Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Addiction Counseling Can anyone tell me about this program?
What is it with us, here at DegreeInfo? We spend all of our time jumping ship and little of our time sailing  Maybe someone can enlighten me on how important "NAADAC Approval" is?
Maybe someone can enlighten me on how important "NAADAC Approval" is? It seems like a lot of states use them, all except Texas. I called the state board and they said that I could take their(NAADAC) exam and Texas would issue a License from that. Here’s a list-http://www.naadac.org/?option=com_content&view=article&id=347&Itemid=77 So this is a top level programmatic accreditation for sure. What is it with us, here at DegreeInfo? We spend all of our time jumping ship and little of our time sailing I can say I finished one degree!!! I got that out of the way and now I feel I want to do something I want to do, price is a big deal with me and at $750 a course it will be very hard to do it.
NAADAC is a good standard to follow. There is also IC&RC, which is used also by many states certification boards. What NAADAC test are you thinking about taking? Do you have any counseling experience? Or what are your long-term goals? I know a few things about the certification / licensure in alcohol and drug counseling; it varies by state. I also know a little about the Aspen counseling programs. Write me offline or online, if you would like to discuss it.
