I have decided to postpone starting my doctoral program till Sept 2011 (at least that’s the decision today). However, I want to take a few masters’ level courses to brush up on my statistics and research skills. I plan to pay out of pocket for the “brush up” classes. My question is, will this impact my eligibility for financial aid for my doctoral program? In essence, by attending classes in the interim will I get caught in the 30 week “overlap” rule? Thank you
