Aspen's Ed.D. -- what's up with the internship?

  1. I know this has been talked about before, but what is up with the internship requirement? Why would an education professional, presumably the target demographic for this program, submit to 360 hours of a supervised internship? Also, it requires someone with a doctorate to oversea the internship, in the public school arena many principals don't have doctorates and administrators (who also may not have doctorates) I would be a hassle to deal with. I don't see this internship requirement in other Ed.D. programs -- so what's the deal?

Also, after looking at Nova's Ed.D., it would be really nice is Aspen offered some concentrations, I wonder if this is possible. It would certainly broaden the appeal of the program.

The price is so right for Aspen but meh...
