Well, it is finally over! I defended my dissertation and I now have my PhD. I know not everyone is a fan of NCU, and that is okay, but it is far from a “mill” and it is an RA PhD no matter how you look at it. It was a six year and three month journey that has come to an end. I promised my wife I would take a break from school (she said forever and I said for a while).

Anyway, it is over and I am done. I did it without taking any extra classes that some have mentioned. Here is how I walked through and the timeline I kept:
    RSH 1 – Topic Paper – 9 pages - 06/02/2008 to 09/12/2008
    RSH 2 – Topic Paper with research methods applied – 14 pages - 10/01/2008 to 12/31/2008
RSH 3 - Topic Paper with research methods applied and refined (continued) – 14 pages - 02/01/2009 to 05/01/2009
    RSH 4 – Concept Paper – 52 pages (10 page literature review) –06/01/2009 to 09/01/2009 - APPROVED

    DIS 1 – Dissertation Proposal – 91 pages (40 page literature review) – 10/01/2009 to 1/22/2010 - APPROVED
DIS 2 – Data collected, chapters 4 and 5 written, manuscript Approved by Mentor and submitted to the Committee – 02/01/2010 to 05/17/2010
DIS 3 – Multiple rewrites based on committee feedback, a few minor changes based on the school reviewers comments (run an extra stats measurement), and one minor change based on the Provost feedback. Finally the Manuscript Approved by School and Provost – 07/01/2010 to 10/18/2010 – APPROVED
    12/9/2010 – Successfully defended dissertation.

In the end the degree ended up costing me $2,100 plus books out of pocket. Not too bad for an RA PhD!

Finish my MBA in Marketing from TUI (2 classes left) then maybe complete what I started a few years ago - an AS from Flordia State College. I only need a few classes and it would be "fun". I plan to pick up my PMP at some point...but that is it!
