I was staring down my UWyo degree with the eye of the tiger, ready to pounce and finish the job, until I got my eval back from them several weeks ago :aargh4: I knew I would be down some credits if I went with them, but I had no idea that they would not accept... brace yourselves... 16 OF MY CREDITS!!!!!!! It gets worse. If I gave you all of the boring details of my eval, it turns out that UWyo would be more expensive for me (although probably not more expensive for everybody) than the schools I was looking at before I ever heard of them.

Where does my path go from here? I am done with looking at different schools. How I proceed simply depends on how my life, and how further evals from my chosen schools go. Since it is the most complex of my plans, I am now running with the mindset that I am going for the BA in Psych/Soc with Columbia College. Simultaneously, I am considering doing a BA in Cultural Studies (w/an individually designed concentration. I'm thinking "Languages and Communication" or something that I would both enjoy and would be pertinent to my job) from SUNY - Empire State College. Since SUNY-ESC would, in theory, accept all of the exams and courses I am plotting out now, it wouldn't be a problem to go there instead of Columbia. Lastly, I am seriously considering just getting the deed done with one of the Big Three.

In short, after several months of floundering, I am working on some more credits for this month and next semester, and I have all but my last 30 credits in the works. Those last 30 will either be courses from Columbia, SUNY-ESC, or some piece-meal patchwork for one of the Big Three. I'm feeling good about this plan (with subplans and subplans of subplans :chairfall:).

I know how you feel. :ugh:

I finally got tired of school shopping and just picked a school . I was accepted to Liberty last year and decided to give them a second look. I registered and paid for my classes to keep from backing out. I'm all in now and refuse to look back. :drive:

Yea, one of the problems for people like us, due in part to this board, is the fact that we know too much. Only a few years ago, people would only choose from one or two local schools and just go with it. Now, our choices so large that we can get stuck in analysis paralysis.

I think one of the big three would be most likely to accept the most transfer credits.

Also, the best idea, like lawrenceq suggests, is to find a good program and to stick with it. This is advice I also need to heed since I have done some school hopping, as well.

Thanks for the support. I expect that SUNY-ESC would accept all of my previous and future work, and if I choose wisely, Columbia will accept all previous and future work. I really might just do the Big Three thing and get it over with, so to speak. The thing is, with my new job, I am in no rush since getting a BA is not an automatic pay raise. It is required, however, for a pay raise that may occur a few years down the line. Soooo, I'm not in any spectacular rush anymore, except for the personal satisfaction piece.

It's time to shill for the old alma mater: I'd strongly urge you to consider Charter Oak State College. It's hard enough to do things by distance, so their strong institutional culture of customer service is invaluable. Besides, once you graduate you can join me on the Alumni Association Board!

Things are going fantastic; I'm really liking it so far. Good education and nice people. How are you liking the undergrad program?

I don't know how I missed this thread, but I feel your pain. At the end of the day, making a decision will be ultimately more important than continuing to ponder. *which i know too well

I think your head is in the right place. A EC BA would get you the buckskin you may or may not need right now, but it is good to have options in this economy should you be suddenly let go (not to sound negative, just realistic) and find yourself competing against others. Get the BA on your resume ASAP dude!
