Anyone know of schools that offer courses and master's degrees in gifted education?

DI favorite Liberty University offers one:
Master of Education - Program Specialist - Gifted | Liberty University Online

University of South Florida offers an MA in Gifted Education:
    GFAQ

University of Houston offers a Master of Education in Gifted and Talented Education
UH Distance Education - Degrees & Programs - Master of Education in Gifted and Talented Education (M.Ed.)

Also found this from University of Georgia:
"The Gifted and Creative Education Program within the department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology in the College of Education offers Gifted In-Field certification courses, Masters (M.Ed.) and Educational Specialist (EdS) degrees."
University of Georgia: Distance Learning Portal

There's probably plenty more but that's all I have time to gather at the moment :)

We get brochures all the time about UVA's (University of Virginia) online courses in education. They tend to have gifted courses each semester, but I'm not sure if they're part of a degree program. They are, however, part of Virginia's Gifted Education licensure program.

    Thanks emmzee and matt.

I believe instead of going $10000-plus into debt to get a master's degree -- in whatever area -- I probably should just take the four or five courses needed for a gifted endorsement and be done with it. So, I'll concentrate on the add-on endorsement.

I love the idea of a master's in religion and lit or writing, but it's probably impractical, in my present circumstances.

I am gearing my dissertation toward 2e/gifted ed. I would look at Northwesterns program, it's the one I have my eye on after I finish at Liberty.

If I could find a master's program with per credit tuition at $300 or less and that didn't require the GRE, I would consider going for a master's and not just the add-on endorsement.

University of South Florida fits that, but they require you to have acurrent teaching position, which I don't have.

If anyone knows of any other programs with per credit tuition at $300 or less and that don't require the GRE, please let me know.

One possible option: Fort Hays State University offers a Master of Science in Education - Gifted ... 36 credit program:

Gift Education Program - Fort Hays State University

Tuition is $229.50/credit, no mention of GRE in admission requirements.

I was really excited about this find -- until I read the degree requirements. Out of the 36 hours required, I see only two gifted courses, and one of these is a practicum. The rest are just regular special education courses, which I have no interest in -- I've had enough of that for 14 years. I know gifted ed. is the higher end of special ed., but I wanted more specifically gifted courses.

And they say this program leads to an endorsement in Gifted Education, but I wonder how that could be with only two gifted courses offered.

I have finally decided to enroll in Drake University's Gifted and Talented endorsement program. The people there have been very nice and helpful.

I might go for a master's in some field later on, but I believe teaching gifted kids will be a good fit for me. I can combine several areas of interest in this job, which is what I have wanted to do all along.

Thanks to all the people who have responded to my posts here; you have all been very helpful. There's no place like Degreeinfo that I know of; it's the tops!
