If someone does a SA PhD do they have to defend their dissertation in South Africa?

 

No. Most often it's done through web-conferencing.

 

Ok that's cool, for some reason I thought you had to fly there..lol.

 

Of course, I am referring to UNISA. Other SA universities may have other policies.

 

Nope. I do not have to go to South Africa

 

I went in Sept and defended my PhD Theology at the University of the Free State which does very little by DL. But my DEd from Unisa didn't require it.
