OK, I am wrapping up an academic program, and was looking for something that is of quality content yet challenging and cost effective and came across the Aspen EdD for what appears to be an incredible price. Other than the NA stuff versus RA, are there other distractions/concerns? Who here is enrolled and can you spend a few minutes telling me your experience? After searching LOTS of threads here, there are endless discussions regarding the utility of the degee but I really want to hear from those of you who are actually enrolled and pursuing an EdD through Aspen University. Again, this is not a debate, I just want to hear some first hand, personal experience. With the program being new enough that no one has ever completed the degree, clearly this is the best chance to get in while it is affordable but I'd like to know more about your experiences. Thanks
He doesn't seem to like to hang out here very often :indifferent: but ShotuJoku recently announced his intentions to complete an Ed.D with them. Maybe a PM will wake him up from his slumber.
There is a guy (I think he is from England) thus is about 40% into the program. His name is Jack Russell. I am sure he will respond, if not, PM him. Abner
Thanks, it appears to be a sound program at an incredible price, I'm kinda surprised there are not others here. Regardless, thanks.
I know this horse has been beat to death, but the NA/RA you mentioned is likely why. Isn't the lack of regional accreditation huge when it comes to certain degrees.. education being one of them?
I had applied, passed all of the entrance requirements, enrolled and paid all of my tuition. I then realized after jumping through so many hoops that the EdD wasn't something I wanted to pursue so I withdrew from the program; it took two months to receive my refund. I am now in an MBA program (NOT @ Aspen) and enjoying it greatly.
The EdD with Aspen has not been around long, thus a reasonable conclusion would be that there are few students that we can see HERE because the program just got off the ground. This forum is not the end of the universe, so we don't really know how many others are out there at this point. Abner
That is a decent hypothesis, but one must present evidence to support a claim before we can even call it a theory. To state it as a blunt fact belies the scientific method.
I have just applied to the Aspen Ed.D. and will be sending a PM to ShotuJoku for his opinion... Hope he's open for discussion.
