    Hello Everyone.
Brand new to this site here. I am impressed by the community seriously.
I am thinking about joining Aspen university. Coming from a traditional school, I am always used to going to a course page to judge the quality of course and the time it takes. But what I figured out with Aspen is that they do not give you the course schedule until you join the course.

I understand the concepts of modules but I would like to know what exactly a module translate to in terms of
    number of hours required,
    number of pages to read
and number of pages of paper to write
    for one module.

It would be great if any one of you (who took a course or know any one who took a course in aspen) can post a sample course schedule for any course which you receive at the beginning of the course here.

BTW I am joining MSTI program with specialization in project management.

I can appreciate a reply in 5 days as I have to make a decision in 5 days.

I don't think you are making a mistake with Aspen, as long as you are OK with DETC accreditation. DETC is a great accreditation and Aspen is a great school, but your degree will face some issues with acceptance in academic circles. Most other situations should offer little trouble and good acceptance. We have a member here called "Abner" who is very knowledgeable about Aspen. If he does not post, you should send him a private message.

    Among many other things :yup:

I was at Aspen University for two courses, I withdraw the second course because of the accreditation. The module is fine, one module per week with discussions. :umbrella:

In fact, I still save some of the course material. Email me to [email protected]; I'll reply back with some of the materials.

I'm going to hijack the thread slightly, and say. . .

. . . I really dig the revised Aspen website. Upon seeing it, my immediate response was "now THAT'S more like it".

Yeah, nothing overboard, just a bit fresher and better worked out.

BTW, isn't that Abner on the front page?!

Although, the site still has the exact same problem as before, that the small centered table makes it the website with, by FAR, the biggest left/right margins of any I have ever seen.

Is anyone aware if Aspen will be offering a generic master of psychology? The MASTER OF ARTS IN PSYCHOLOGY AND ADDICTION COUNSELING COURSES seems bits too focus and with 48 credits a bit too long as a fun thing to do.

You may be joking about the power of DI, but I think you are actually right on. Dr. Lady was involved in our discussions about the poor appearance of his website and our rantings may have influenced him to get the website updated a little. It looks much better even though it's similar to before. At least it's not just a table filled in with pictures and text. It looks like there is some style sheet application going on and this has benefited the appearance.

The new home page for Aspen appears more focused, less meandering, and is a bit more professional in overall look/feel. It appears to be designed to present most of the information in no more than two screens, so it reduces all of the scrolling on the prior page. Menus and subpages are now thus more quickly accessible. The darker tones up top make it appear less gaudy than before.

Many DL schools seem to place darker colors up near the top of the page to improve the reader's focus on their logos/menus and to appear more "serious". I think the Aspen revision accomplishes this well.

Having their credentials readily visible on the front page is a plus as well, although I can see them getting carried away with that if they're not careful.
