Seems like many Christian Colleges and Universities-US based- care little about Regional Accreditation, and only care abut teaching the Bible and Theology. Most that I have been looking at are NA or TRACS. One particular one is Piedmont Baptist College. A nice size College that offers everything from AA's to Doctorate degrees. And most are via DL. Do you guys, that went to a Biblical University in the US find this to be true? (Other than Lib U.) Or those who do research into Bible and Theology Universities to be true?
In my research I have found that the only institutions that don't care about RA are non-RA schools. Some of these schools even require faculty to have RA degrees. Most RA seminaries and universities still generally expect RA for faculty and for admission/credit transfer. Some exceptions do exist, though.
I did my undergrad at California Baptist University. It has always been RA for as long as I can remember. I also attended Vanguard University which is RA and I'm now at Liberty that is, as you mentioned, also RA. So, even though it may be true, I have not experienced the issue you are suggesting.
Interesting replies. I must be looking at the wrong sites and schools, for many that I have been looking at are not RA, and in their disclaimer, many care more about teaching biblical concepts rather than proving some type of accreditation. Just a small observation I have noticed while looking around the net for Universities and Colleges.
Tennessee Temple is a university that seems to fit the mold you describe. They offer a very inexpensive doctorate as well (somewhere in the neighborhood of $250.00 an hour).
Sorry you have had trouble, I know there are good schools that are not accredited. Nations U is probably one such school, but they are attempting to become DETC. It makes sense that the schools who are not accredited would state that they are not interested in that. In some ways, I can understand where they might be coming from; I'm sure some schools have other goals.
