I was doing an online PsyD at The Uni of Rockies, in Sports Psych. I been having an issue getting a job so I said I would just see what I need to do to get my license in counseling so I can get a job . ( my masters was in counseling ) . I called my old school and they said all I needed was to take one class (an Intensive ). After I got there they told me I might need to take more.

Going off the assumption I only needed one class I put my classes at the Rockies on hold. Now if I can not take the internship I would have lost a year of work. And heck I do not even know if I want to go back to the Rockies. Since they are not APA. I need a license.

sorry for any spelling errors, I'm dyslexic and when I am distressed I mess up more.

    Hey Joey,

Sorry to hear about all that! I agree that if your goal is an APA accredited doctorate in Psychology that you're better off withdrawing from UR.

I'm assuming here that you're going to finish doing whatever your old school says, even though they misled you. If that's so, and you still want to resume doctoral study afterward, I believe your only distance learning choice for APA accreditation is Fielding Graduate University.

Where did you go to school for your masters in counseling?

Liberty up until now I had no issues. But this is such a major set back . I passed up jobs, because of I knew I was about to start my internship.

I take it that you did the 48-hour program and now want to do the 60-hour program? They offer both at Liberty. The intensives are the same for both programs. Either way, it will depend on what state you live in and what they require for licensing. A large portion of states require 60 hours or are transferring to that.

I have some psychology classes under my belt that can transfer over. But it just seems all the colleges just treat people so badly .

I can safely say that Liberty U treats people very warmly and with great respect. It has been the best online experience I have had in the 23 online classes I have had over the years.

However, it is definitely Christian in everything it does. It appears that all or most of the classes are very scholarly and rigorous, but most include a Christian component. So you will either love it or hate it, depending on your worldview.
