    Hi everyone!

A friend of mine has decided to go back to school to get her undergrad degree in business. Ideally, she would love for the degree to have a fashion focus, or at least a few classes (not design but the business side of things). Her criteria are that it has to be RA, US B&M school. She took a couple of college courses before so a school that would accept these credits would be a bonus. Cheaper is also better obviously but it doesn't have to be dirt cheap.

I am trying to figure out a couple of options for her but I am not so familiar with bachelor of business degrees so I need your help!

The first option would be to do any RA business undergrad that she can get done relatively quickly (i.e. like 4 years part time) and then do an MBA that has a fashion slant. Can anyone recommend schools (especially at the undergrad level) that she could consider?

The second option is to try to find a fashion business degree right at undergrad level. I haven't seen too many of those but if anyone has a lead, I would really appreciate it.

I don't think that testing out would suit her learning style and also the closest test center is over 400 miles away, which would make that option really difficult.

    Thanks for your help!

Are you actually saying that you found "some" fashion business bachelors degrees? I'm guessing that if you found even one it's the ONLY one.

I've just sprinted through some websites and I'm unofficially saying that your friend has created a set of criteria that guarantees disappointment. To my knowledge, there is no such animal as an RA B&M Bachelors degree in Business with a fashion emphasis.

    Plan B?

Here are some ideas that might help:

Take a regular BSBA and add some fashion courses as electives.
For example the Excelsior BSBA (not B&M) could be earned in General Business or Marketing and you are allowed 15 units of electves. Most, if not all, of the business core courses would be applicable to the fashion business or any other business.

Here is a DETC school that offers a degree in fashion merchandising

How about an hybrid degree consisting of a business AA from an RA B&M school (community college?) then use that towards the above DETC school. Later on complete a RA BS degree to qualify you for entry into a masters program.

Thanks for all those ideas! I will pass them on to her. I like the idea of an AA first (because there seems to be more of them focused on fashion merchandising, like the FIT/SUNY one) and then doing a general BA in business.

I had found the Art Institute of Pittsburgh BA, which looks great but is so expensive. The other one I saw is Berkeley College, which I was worried is a degree mill because of its strange name but based on the chea website it appears to be RA. It is also really expensive.

I hadn't seen McKinley college before, I will pass it on to her with the usual caveats about NA vs RA.

I don't find the name strange at all except that some might confuse it with University of California at Berkeley. Berkeley College is RA.
