That's pretty funny. Isn't it interesting that so many of those who poke fun at degrees earned from online schools think that you print your diploma on your home printer? Talk about ignorant, don't they know that you email your professor and he prints it out on his home printer?

If I ever wanted to make a video which mocked anti-DLites, it would word-for-word be exactly that. He ran the gamut of shameful ignorance and factual vacuity.

Oh, AND it wasn't even funny.

  4. Of course Tosh.o's alma mater has a number of online graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

I wonder if the antipathy to online education is a sincere backlash by traditional grads and non-grads or if it is just an easy target.

I think it's just an easy target. I doubt there is any agenda. In a few months they will be poking fun at someone else. It will get old because all of the comedy directed against online schools say pretty much the same thing. Especially the line about someone printing their own diploma.

It sounds like you are referring to the "anti-dentite" bit from a Seinfeld episode.

This was filmed in June of '09 and it seems like more and more comedians are taking shots, likely because of the growth of DL. I don't see the peak of this coming for a while.

Agreed, but it will get old at some point when all the cheap jokes are worn out. Might be longer than I said, but it will happen.
