So after a long process of choosing what school I wanted to go to, I decided on Thomas Edison State College.

I spoke to somebody at the school, and she informed me that it takes 4-6 weeks before my FA application would be processed though the school and that the earliest I would be able to attend is November but more then likely December.

I really don't want to wait 3 months to get started. I don't have the cash to pay up front and wait to be reimbursed, so I would have to wait.

I will say one thing about TESC--my experience with the people on the phone is they are just bothered by phone calls. I have now chatted with 2 different people there on the phone and they both made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. But this is just my experience and others may have great help with them.

I think what I will be doing is attending University of Phoenix for my AA, then transferring for my BA. I am not to hip on this, but I need to get started.

I will say the one thing I do like about UP is they are very helpful with all fronts of applying to there school as well as helping with financial aid.

I considered UP about 4 months ago and actually went through the whole aplication process--and they did everything. They even filled out my fa application (with my help of course).

To be honest, I really don't know why I made this thread because I don't have a question. I guess I just wanted to see if anybody has anything to say about this. Thanks

Yeah, everybody hates the costumer service at TESC including myself. Your experience and reaction to it is standard :(. Hopefully one day they will learn. Until then, keep making the problem public until somebody notices. If it fits your goals try Excelsior, otherwise, best wishes to you at UoP!

Why U of P? FA is going to need to be paid back and the cost vs. what you get does not add up. Over a grand a class is way way up there. You can get a better price, name and the same service at other schools. Please look into this before you pull the trigger on it.

Like I said I am not "hip" on the idea of going to UofP. I just want to get started. Maybe I should wait 3 months to get started at TESC.

The reason I was going to go to UofP is because I have heard they have a good education. Now there name may not be that popular. Thats why I was going to transfer after my AA.

I just looked and charter oaks credit price is 275. Heck Troy is only 250.

One of our favorites, Clovis Community College, is less than $30/credit, fees included (if you go 6 credits at a time).

    Colorado State University, Pueblo.

For your information, their CLEP policy is not very flexible :(

I'm just trying to show how over priced U of P is.

Why can't you CLEP from now until December?

Or take courses from Clovis and other low cost schools. Taking an AA at UoP is way too expensive.

Also look into DSST DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com

Excelsior and COSC also offer AA and BS degrees at a cost lower than TESC.

Also you do not need to enrol at any of the big three until you are close to meeting your degre requirements.
