LSU has online classes for only $262? I always read they were by correspondence courses, but I was looking at their classes today and they are online classes as well. Is that something new?

I have no idea why I was looking at LSU BTW.

Is it true they say correspondence or distance on the transcripts?

    They're online, but still correspondence

For some courses they use an online format, but I believe all the courses are self-paced and correspondence. Instead of mailing a paper document you upload a file.

Some of the English courses are interesting.

They offer enough Accounting to shake a stick at, or fill out a concentration at a Big 3 school. And Latin!

I have been pointing people toward this course set for quite a while now because it's so affordable. My only regret is that LSU doesn't actually offer any degrees through distance learning.

That is my only regret as well.
Oh, and the fact that some LSU courses are on hold due to the fact that they are using obsolete textbooks and students are unable to locate copies (new or used).

I'm tempted to take the Latin series just because I've always wanted to learn the language (at least how to read it, anyway).

I saw about five classes I want to take. I think I will sign up for one to see how they are.

They are tough. Tough grading and definitely challenging. I took Accounting, Biology, and a Lit class through them (Poetry).

Did they seem to be harder than normal?

In my opinion, the grading was harder than normal, yes. The course content was normal.

So how would you list these courses if they don't offer a complete degree? Let's say I took all of the English and Latin courses, what then? Or are these only used for credit purposes when trying to wedge them in an undergraduate degree?

    Yes.

Here's another question: does LSU accept these courses to fill their "residency" requirement? In other words, is it possible to complete an LSU degree online, even though they don't specifically offer online degrees?
