What is the term used for verifying degrees?

The terminology has slipped my mind at the moment, what is it called when you check to see if someone has graduated from a certain school, other than "verification"? Thanks.

Yah I think that's what I'm looking for, thanks. Anyways I was trying to check my school to see whether future employers will be able to find I indeed studied there, through online methods, but can't find a search feature for it yet.

 

I think most places just hire an outside firm to look into that stuff. I can pull up online versions of my transcripts and see my degree(s). Otherwise I didn't know there were many employers that even checked? I'd like to know how most employers checked or if there was a standard procedure.

 

You might want to see if your school is listed as a participant in the National Student Clearinghouse.

 

Verification sounds OK to me.

Or there is validation?
